Account & Data Deletion
How to delete your MacroSnap account and associated data
MacroSnap makes it easy to delete your account and all associated personal data at any time. You have two options:
Option 1: Delete In-App (Recommended)
- Open the MacroSnap app.
- Tap the Profile icon in the bottom navigation.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm your decision when prompted.
Your login and synced MacroSnap data will be deleted immediately. Any active MacroSnap subscription will also be cancelled immediately so that future billing stops.
Option 2: Email Request
If you no longer have access to the app, email us from the address linked to your account:
We will process your request within 30 days and confirm via email once complete.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Account credentials (email, password hash)
- Profile information (age, weight, height, activity level, goals)
- Meal history and food logs
- Streaks, badges, and gamification progress
- Any custom foods or saved meals
- Push notification subscriptions
- MacroSnap Pro access and active subscription
What We Retain
Some data must be retained for legal and accounting reasons:
- Payment records (up to 7 years) — Stripe transaction records are retained to comply with UK tax and accounting law. These records do not include card details, which are held by Stripe.
- Anonymised server logs (up to 90 days) — standard hosting logs for security and abuse prevention, containing no personal information linkable to your account after deletion.
Timeline
In-app deletions are processed immediately. Email requests are processed within 30 days. Backup copies held for disaster recovery are overwritten within 30 days.
